Delicious Fall Apple Cake

I’ve had a hankering for some apple deliciousness lately.  Something about the cold weather outside and racking up piles and piles of leaves this weekend had me dreaming of apples and cinnamon!  Last weekend we had some friends over for dinner and I experimented with making a chocolate/vanilla swirl cake which ended up to be [...]

No grain crackers

I totally understand missing the crunch of some foods like crackers and chips when going Paleo.  There really isn’t a substitute… until now!  I was having friends over for dinner the other night and had bought pate and some delicious goat cheese (yes I know goat cheese is not Paleo but on a rare occasion [...]

Jicama Salad

I don’t know if you have ever tried this radish like vegetable Jicama but it is crunchy and delicious.  A very mild version of a radish, this bulb lends itself nicely to soaking up any flavor you may wish to add to it.  I julienned mine and and added some fragrant herbs and citrus, making [...]

Mashed Yucca (cassava)

One of the biggest requests I get around this time of year is for a substitute for mashed potatoes.  Simply using the humble yam or sweet potato instead of a white potato can leave you feeling a little cheated sometime.  Recently I have been cooking a lot with yucca or cassava as it is also [...]

What I’m reading/trying

This book has been instrumental in getting my energy levels back with training. Whilst this is not Paleo, many of the principals can be adapted and still follow a very clean Paleo diet. Read my post on Paleo and Carb Back-loading HERE

About the Recipes

All the recipes you see on my site are made up by me, unless otherwise stated. I love to experiment in the kitchen and as you can see my photo's are not all fancy, they are usually taken with my phone just as I am about to dish up. These are real tried and true recipes that work, if they didn't I wouldn't post it. I hope you enjoy my cooking as much as I do.
