Delicious Fall Apple Cake

I’ve had a hankering for some apple deliciousness lately.  Something about the cold weather outside and racking up piles and piles of leaves this weekend had me dreaming of apples and cinnamon!  Last weekend we had some friends over for dinner and I experimented with making a chocolate/vanilla swirl cake which ended up to be [...]

Fruits And Vegetables

It is not always easy to determine which foods can be eaten on the paleo diet. For the die hard followers of the diet, the rule is to eat only foods that our ancestors had at their disposal, however, we now have a larger advantage than our ancestors in that we have the ability to consume a greater variety of nutritious fruits and vegetables and use them to create a nutritionally rich diet. It is important to note, however, that starchy tubers, usually not recommended for inclusion in the paleo diet, are toxic if not cooked, have a high glycemic index, are low in phytosterols, while also containing enzyme blockers [...]

What I’m reading/trying

This book has been instrumental in getting my energy levels back with training. Whilst this is not Paleo, many of the principals can be adapted and still follow a very clean Paleo diet. Read my post on Paleo and Carb Back-loading HERE

About the Recipes

All the recipes you see on my site are made up by me, unless otherwise stated. I love to experiment in the kitchen and as you can see my photo's are not all fancy, they are usually taken with my phone just as I am about to dish up. These are real tried and true recipes that work, if they didn't I wouldn't post it. I hope you enjoy my cooking as much as I do.
